Thou shall not fall hard for movie stars

*spoilers ahead for Ombak Rindu & Breaking Dawn. Be warned.

Greetings readers.

I am quite surprise when the top Google search for Malaysia is not 'Ombak Rindu' instead it is still on our beloved Harimau Muda. The reality apparently depicts a different story, where over Facebuku everyone who has watched the movie gloated their experience and those who have not, whined, and some even weeped. *truth. 'Ombak Rindu' is also fast trending on Twitter, if not the #TT would be on Aaron Aziz (Hariz), Maya Karin (Izzah) or Lisa Surihani (Mila), the sugar treats of the film.

I, myself personally has been bitten hard by the 'Ombak Rindu' bug. I came with absolute no expectation except I'm a big fan of Maya Karin (always imagining to name my mini me, that) and the fact that I get to treat Mak for a screening was all there is.

The first 20 minutes of the movie has managed to grab my attention for Maya's endearing character left me speechless. And there's Aaron, whose buffed physique clad in classy office wears has definitely switched on unnecessary button! (it's a wifey stuff, it's better if you don't understand).

All throughout the movie, my attention was not even slightly compromised. Osman Ali (the director) may be slacking with his cinematography skills but he cleverly piped in the heart-wrenching snippets from Adira and Hafiz's song, also entitled Ombak Rindu in every apt scenes till it was impossible for me not to shed a tear. The lines however, are not mind boggling yet they hit home. Among the scenes that managed to trigger the waterworks is when Izzah and Hariz exchanged their dowries which came in the form of each other's wrist watch. For a moment there, one could truly feel how relief she was and Maya Karin's expression translated into hint of happiness for Izzah, which I think she did superbly. I cried hard came the scene when Hariz forced Izzah to get rid of the baby for he thought she was carrying his child. The look of on Izzah's face was despairing, I mean, imagine if you're punched for being pregnant... God forbids. I'm not going to comment much on Lisa Surihani's acting because I find it dry, and most of the time it's obvious she's pushing it tad too much. But her character, Mila deserves a tear drop or two for if I were to be in her shoes, I'd offer to walk myself out of the Bermuda zone too.

Waves of longing?

As far as 'Ombak Rindu' is concern, I have no regrets, in fact I plan to watch it again as soon as Osman Ali put it up on Astro's First.
...

The second day of our movie rendezvous, we watched the no.1 blockbuster, what else but the long awaited 'Breaking Dawn'.

Yumsy no.1

Excuse my penchant for the werewolf. Particularly in this installation, my eyeballs are all fixed on Jacob! Especially the part when he finally turned up at the wedding albeit having his heart shattered to pieces by the bride. White shirt? Really Jacob, really? I have to admit that I just turned a Twiheart about few months ago when I got to enjoy all of the series back to back from the comfort of my home theatre. But then again, I can't really proclaim that I'm a Twiheart because I read not the writings of Stephanie Meyers. So, safe to say that I'm only a celluloid based fan. I'm team Jacob mind you for Jacob represents a real man, he is just so driven, you know... he represents the man in Meatloaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love". Oh stop it!

Judging from the previous series, I particularly love this one because finally the brunette and the pale chap let their guards down... reads: The brunette tried to seduce the pale chap with her provoking lingerie, on their honeymoon yet she failed miserably... (oh I could totally relate to that! *blush*)

But first and foremost, what left me utterly bewildered was the brunette's intricate wedding dress! Hats off, grandeur bow and bunch of red roses pitched to Carolina Herrera for making our brunette looks flawless and breathtaking! There's a Grace Kelly's touch to it especially the layered buttons, the spotless crepe satin and the sheer veil!

The brunette
Buttons to die for!

*cried*
The satin surely feels like butter

Only the Cullen could afford these
The artisan

You can watch Ms Hererra's thoughts on her masterpiece here. Now not only I was bitten by the impressive 'costume' of this film but as I was googling for Ms Herrera's masterpiece, these photos keep popping up.

Exquisite

The brunette has morphed into a blondie!! And she looks so fffiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnee! In fact saying her name doesn't leave me cringing anymore. There, my new muse, the blonde Kristin Stewart. It convinced me even more on how certain hair colour could create an impact on your overall looks. The brunette had this forever forlorn look on her face, but this blondie... she literally brightens up. It's no wonder the K-Pop generation opt for blonde!

For those who know me, the fact that I acknowledge Stewart's existence is like shoving a piece of mutton in my mouth! Yes, I was bitten hard.

Now, the chocolate filling to my macaroons has got to be this, the end credit of Breaking Dawn, which I insisted Mak to stay back for!

My heartbeat. This^
