Here comes the monsoon
Hi phantom/imaginary readers.
You see, yours truly is currently at a Starbucks outlet. Still clad in my office wear and smelling a lot like gym socks. I must admit the monsoon season this year have sent a lot of KLites into insanity. I'm not a KLite but more like a Kembangite, whose area has been badly affected by sudden floods of late. And tonight is one of the many recurrences.
I have in fact logged off earlier, at around 6pm, but little I realized it was pouring outside. A collegue warned me about the rising water at UPM exit so I detoured to Putrajaya exit. I dread the thought of struggling through my non-functioning Kancil brake whenever it immersed in the water. Bad experience once as I almost encountered with self-accident, hence here I am... at a Starbucks, typing an entry. Feeling a whole lot safer. #asif #rolleyes
I'm giving myself only 10minutes to type this entry. So I guess it's going to be another one of those pointless entries in this blog. :-)
Anyways, a bunch of friends and I decided to watch "Istanbul Aku Datang" and gave up lunch. Well let me tell you, it was worth it; times 10! I can always count on Bernard Chauly production, light and happiness guaranteed. Great witty script from Rafidah 3R. We left the theatre happy and fell damn hard in love with Beto Kusyairy!
Here's one the best songs in the film. "Aku Datang" by Tomok. Oh he didn't disappoint too. You see... the thing about Bernard is, he has this penchant for underdogs leading man, ever since Gol & Gincu.
Go watch this movie girls, you'll find yourself surveying for plane tickets to Turkey right after *wink*
Ok time's up! 10mins.

Root before Branches
by Room for Two
Just watched the Season finale of Glee season 3. Got caught up with the final scene between Rachel and Finn. And it teleported me back to 1999, at the Subang Airport. Then I made the decision to change my campus from Malacca to UiTM Kota Samarahan, my hometown. A little twist though, I didn't give up on the relationship I just developed with my then, boyfriend, Mr.Hubs. We cried at the departure gate and days went by with us longing for each other badly. But we took a chance and have faith during our years of long distance courtship. We did not give up. We persevered and we got married.
Looking back, I was 19, able to think straight and made the right decision to come back home. I took a chance on love and I took a chance on success. I got both.
And now I'm 32. Things are not going as what I've hoped for.
Is it just me or am I being tied down...
Tied down to what...that, I have to figure out myself. And I hope soon.

The Vow
*dusting off cob web*
Pardon my absence.
So here's a little something.
Just recently, SO granted me a brief me-time, instead of using it on an overdue pedicure, I went to watch "The Vow".

| Tatum o yums! |
When I got our from the theatre, I had to take a breather since I was literally asphyxiated by Channing Tatum's HOTNESS (cue: dramaaaaaa). I went to a silent mode and asked myself a lot of questions regarding my marriage, among which;
- Does my husband know any of my passwords?
- Does my husband know what's my favourite pastimes?
- Does he know what are my favourite clothes?
- Has he ever been to my office?
- Would he know where I keep my personal belongings?
- Does he know my favourite sleeping position?
- Does he remember our anniversary date?
- Does he remember where did I keep our wedding albums?
- Does he remember our wedding song?
- Does he know/remember the first time we met?
- Does he know which cat do I love most?
- Does he know where do I keep my make up or undies?
- Does he know who my best friend is?
and more questions...
So I went home and bombarded him with a quiz. Out of 30 questions, he answered 22. Not bad lah.
Hence girls, if you haven't watched this movie please go and I mean now. It got me thinking profoundly of my relationship with my SO. We thought we know a lot of our partners, but actually we don't. Ask yourself this,
"What if I got into a coma, would my partner able to answer stuffs about me?"
PS:
(How can he not know where did I keep my undies?)

Sometimes the wrong choices take us to the right place... It's just the matter of moving forward.

If...
...if I had my druthers, life is put to a halt at this instant, played in rewind and I shall fix everything that I should have.
But the universe does not work that way... there's no other way but forward.
And I'm learning, unfortunately in agony; of how life should have or could have been if I've had treated it differently.
But the universe does not work that way... there's no other way but forward.
And I'm learning, unfortunately in agony; of how life should have or could have been if I've had treated it differently.
In the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful
By (the token of) time, (through the ages)
Verily, Man is in loss
Except, such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds,
and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy
Surah Al-Asr

Input equals output
And so 2012 is here.
Got my brand new planners in a cute bandeau courtesy of the employer. This year the planners are red. I suppose the employer welcomes the year of the dragon open-heartedly. On this day last year, my office desk was already cleared out, my 2011 management files were ready to be filled up and I was good to go. It was different this year. My desk is still in a mess with open 2011 management files. Even my table calendar still reads 2011.
Simply, I am not done with 2011. They were so many things left unresolved, unspoken, undone, unforgiven; I feel that the year 2011 bid adieu way too soon it left me incomplete and unprepared. My mind is in constant clamor with my heart. The mind is consulting the heart to let go of the past and the heart is persuading the mind to be sensible. Conflict. Yet 2012 is steadily eventuating.
I must go forward. Time waits for no man as the saying goes, and I for certain cringed at the idea of being left behind. I must force myself to let go of the past, forgive and forget, trick my mind into starting anew and just never look back. If there was nothing to be proud of or be happy about, then why bother looking back? I've just got to remind myself that these feet of mine only walk forward.
And to do just that, the only way I could keep my mind off 2011 is of course the birthday month! My birthday month. January makes me happy. January cheers me up. January means love come pouring in. And January also means I turn a year older. As for this year I shall turn 32, insyaAllah.
And what is a birthday without a list of hopeful gifts coming from my loved ones? Last year was good as I got most of the items I listed; some came on my birthday and some came much later, any how they were given to me as birthday presents. Blissful moments I'd recall.
Now, why let go of a good tradition, yes?
I present you, the list.

There you have it, my birthday wish list for 2012, not in priority accordance. The last one on the list is a dream actually. And I guess it shall remain so until I retire. One can never dream too much, yes?
Nevertheless, the ultimate dream of mine for 2012 is of course to conceive. Quoting a friend, "Input equals output" hence I am trying to kick start the year living by that principle, which denotes the efforts you put in will eventually result into the things that you desire most. And I desire to become a mother, a better Muslimah, an obedient wife, a responsible daughter and sister. I also wish that this year shall bring good health to both hubs and I. And I hope for sheer sincerity in friendship that comes my way.
Here's to another twelve months of multifarious adventure; to your bliss and heartaches, success and falls, hopes and dreams!

I'm mad as hell I ain't gonna take it no more
This song has been playing on my mind lately, like a lot.
I'm not sure if it's an indication of something, whether my subconscious is signaling my schemata the big picture... I don't know. Or simply maybe, the song is catchy and I fancy Pia.
Whatever it is, things are not going my directions, let alone falling into plan. Feel like I'm stuck in a rut, big time.
I pray hard that I won't lose my mind.
If I had my druthers, I'd pack my bags and give me some E.P.L.
